Just an update from my sketch book. Working on my face skills!
My collage creates an illusion of 3D space because all of the pieces overlap, and I have bigger pieces in the back. Also, lighter colors like yellow are behind the darker colors which creates the illusion that the lighter pieces are farther back. I used greens and yellows because they compliment each other and it creates a sense of unity. The greens in my collage emit a cool feeling, while the complimenting yellows evoke a sense of warmth.
My scale drawing. The chair in the front helps show depth because it's a lot darker than everything else and it overlaps other parts of the drawing. I think the shading in the corner of the ceiling gives it space and the different values help as well.
